For use with NexHealth Payments
Overview
Send payment requests
NexHealth Payment requests allow you to quickly and easily request payment from patients who have already left the office, with automatic reminders to make sure they pay. No more expensive paper mailers or time wasted on phone calls—quickly issue digital requests to patients and watch the money come in.
Select Send request.
From the Collect payment page, once you've specified how much you wish to collect, click the Send request button to send a Payment request to your patient.
Note: Unpaid Payment Requests automatically expire after 90 days.
Patients will automatically receive the email and text messages you've customized in in your Payments Template. These include a link to a secure payment page where they can see a detailed digital statement (Ledger Sync users only), enter their card details, use Apple Pay or Google Pay, or select Affirm to complete the payment.
You can track open Payment requests in the Awaiting payments tab of Payments. You can see when they were first requested and when patients last received an automated or manual reminder. As soon as the payment is made, the request will automatically disappear from Awaiting payments and appear in Transaction history.
Manage open payment requests
In the Awaiting Payment tab of Payments, you can see a list of all open Payment Requests. From here, you can complete various other actions by clicking on the buttons on the far right of each row.

Mark as paid
Sometimes you'll send a Payment Request, but the patient pays outside of NexHealth. For example, perhaps they made a cash or a check payment. If you want to log in NexHealth that this payment was successfully collected, click on the overflow menu (three dots) and select Mark as paid. This will:
Mark the payment as complete in NexHealth. It will show up in Transaction History and all Payments reports as a successful payment with the status Manually marked as paid.
Sync the payment to your patient ledger, or prompt the Allocate & Sync flow if the request contains a custom amount. (Only available to Ledger Sync users).
Cancel request
If you want to delete an open request (because it was incorrect, or it was a duplicate, or payment was already made, etc) you can click on the overflow menu (three dots) and select Cancel request. This deletes the payment request entirely from NexHealth. The completed payment will not appear in the Transaction history or payment reports, and will not sync to the patient's ledger (for Ledger Sync users).
Note: Unpaid payment requests automatically expire after 90 days for security reasons and will disappear from this list.
