For use with NexHealth Payments
Overview
Charging a card from Collect payments
You can charge a credit, debit, HSA, or FSA card on file - or you can add a new card - from the Collect payment page. This is helpful when collecting a payment from a patient over the phone.
You can also collect payment from insurance via this flow. For more details, consult the article on collecting insurance payment.
1. Select Charge credit card.
From the Collect payment page, once you've specified how much you wish to collect, click the Charge credit card button.
2. Select the card to charge, then complete.
If the patient already has saved payment methods on file, you will see them listed in the drop-down menu, and can select it and then Charge credit card. |
3. [Optional] Enter new card details, then complete.
From this menu, you can also select Use a new card, which allows you to manually enter new card details. This is perfect when patients read their card details to you over the phone.
Enter their details, and then Charge credit card. |
You can also select whether you want to Save this card to this patient’s payment methods and whether to Make this the primary payment method.
Manage payment methods
Whenever patients make credit card payments through NexHealth, their card details are securely saved. This allows you to conveniently charge them moving forward (i.e., “Would you like us to charge your card on file?”), saving you time and allowing you to collect payment faster.
1. Access the patient’s profile.
You can do this by clicking on their name anywhere, or find them in the global search bar.
2. From Actions, select Manage payment methods.
3. Add or delete payment methods.
