Charge a card from Collect payment

You can charge a credit, debit, HSA, or FSA card on file — or add a new one — from the Collect payment page. This is handy when collecting over the phone. You can also collect insurance virtual-card payments through the same flow.

1. Select Process payment.

On the Collect payment page, once you've set the amount, click Process payment.

2. Select the card to charge, then complete.

If the patient has saved payment methods, pick one from the dropdown and click Process payment.

3. Or enter a new card.

Select Use a new card to enter card details manually — ideal when a patient reads them to you over the phone. Enter the details, then click Process payment.

You can also choose to Save this card to this patient's payment methods and Make this the primary payment method.

Manage cards on file

When a patient pays by card through NexHealth, the card is securely saved so you can charge it again later ("Would you like us to charge your card on file?") and collect faster.

Need patient consent to store cards? Create a form and select the Stored Payment Methods Agreement template.

1. Open the patient's profile.

Click the patient's name anywhere, or find them in the global search bar.

2. From Actions, select Manage payment methods.

On the patient profile, click ActionsManage payment methods.

3. Add or delete payment methods.

From here you can review saved methods, delete one (red trash-can icon), or add a new one. Adding a card opens the same window as adding one during collection.
