Processing payments on the Terminal
How to collect payments with your NexHealth credit card terminal.
1. Complete the Collect payment page.
On the Collect payment page, complete all needed fields by selecting ledger items with available balances and/or filling in custom amounts.
For non-Ledger Sync customers, you’ll fill in the amount and the reason, optionally the procedure date.
2. Select your Terminal.
Click the Use Terminal button. If you have multiple terminals configured to your location, you can switch between the terminals by clicking the little down-arrow on the Use Terminal button. Your browser will remember which terminal you used most recently, and set that as your default.
3. Follow the instructions on the terminal.
Clicking Use terminal will send your payment request to the selected terminal, and you'll see the requested balance show up on the terminal.
The patient can then swipe, insert, or tap their card (credit, debit, HSA, and FSA) or phone (for Apple Pay and Google Pay) on the terminal to complete the payment. NexHealth will automatically email your patient with a receipt. |
You can see completed terminal payments in your Transaction History and Payments reports.
Ledger Sync payments users will see their Terminal payments sync to patient ledgers as well.
Terminal Troubleshooting
Why won’t my terminal turn on?
Plug in the terminal with the provided USB-C cable to make sure it has adequate battery charge (it's ok if the terminal is always plugged in).
After a couple of minutes, hold down the button on the top of the right side of the terminal for several seconds. You should hear a ping and feel a small vibrate from the terminal, and then it will turn on.
If that fails, please contact NexHealth support for more assistance.
Why won’t my terminal connect to the wifi?
Sometimes specific wifi network configurations will reject our terminals. Overwhelmingly we see this occur when users attempt to connect the terminal to their "Guest" wifi network. We always recommend connecting the terminal to your primary private wifi network for best stability and performance.
If the terminal is still not connecting to the wifi, please contact NexHealth support for more assistance.
I have multiple terminals - how do I rename my terminals?
When you have multiple terminals, you want each to have a unique name in NexHealth.
If your terminals both show up as "Front Desk," please reach out to NexHealth support. For each of your terminals, please provide:
the last four digits of the serial number on the back of the device
the name you would like for that terminal.
example: "9101, Workstation 1"
