How does NexHealth Payments integrate with multi-location data sources?

NexHealth provides transparency into the comprehensive multi-location ledgers for each patient and family, making it easier to collect across locations.

Some practices may have data sources which store data for patients across multiple locations. For these practices, NexHealth displays information about patient ledgers both at the location level and for the total patient ledger, making it easier to track balances and collect payment.

For use with NexHealth Payments Ledger Sync

Overview

View ledger totals for the whole patient ledger.

You can view both the total amount due for each patient’s full ledger and the amount that is due for your current location.

In the Not requested tab

Go to Payments → Not requested to quickly view both the ledger and location totals of payments due.

The total Not requested at the top is the total for your active location.

  • For each family, the bold black amount shows the total due across all locations in the data source.

  • The grey due here amount shows what’s due at your current location.

Hover over the grey due here amount to see a tooltip listing all locations where balances are owed.

When selecting family members for collection

When choosing a family member to collect payment from:

  • The bold black amount shows the total due across all locations.

  • The blue due here amount shows what’s due at your current location. If the amount due here is $0.00, it appears in grey.

In the ledger totals bar

When collecting payment, the ledger totals bar under the patient’s name displays both personal and family totals for the ledger across all locations in the data source.

Search for patients via Collect payment across locations in a data source.

When using the Collect payment button in Payments, you can search for patients across all locations in the data source, regardless of the patients’ default clinic or which location you’re currently viewing in NexHealth.

View all open ledger items when collecting payment.

When in the Collect payment screen, you’ll see all open ledger items from across every location in your data source. This provides a clearer view of how balances compare between NexHealth and your health record system, and gives your collections team an easy way to track open balances at other locations and send payment requests for other locations.

  • Each open ledger item lists its location beneath the item’s name and provider.

You can only request payment for balances associated with your active location.

  • To request a balance at another location, you must switch locations in NexHealth.

  • Balances at other locations will be greyed out and unselectable, even if you have the necessary user permissions.
