Editing Dentrix/Dentrix Enterprise medical alerts for the Medical history form

Edit the information which NexHealth reads from Dentrix/Dentrix Enterprise for the NexHealth Medical history form.

The Medical history form is dynamic, and it changes options for medical alerts (conditions, medications, and allergies) based on the medical alerts already in your health record system. These options are read directly from your health record system.

Overview

What NexHealth reads from Dentrix/Dentrix Enterprise

  • NexHealth reads all the alerts from Medical Conditions, Allergies, and Medications.

  • If an office has an alert marked ‘Inactive’ NexHealth will not read in these alerts.

  • NexHealth will read in the alerts exactly how they are in terms of their spelling, capitalization, dosage, etc.

  • Any misspelled alerts will need to be fixed in Dentrix or Dentrix Enterprise. NexHealth support cannot change them.

How to edit medical alerts in Dentrix/Dentrix Enterprise

To remove any alerts they must be deleted from your alerts in Dentrix/Dentrix Enterprise.

1. Open the patient’s Family File.

2. Click on the red cross, then the gear icon.

3. Click on the section you want to add or edit an alert in.

You can select conditions, allergies, or medications from the tabs at the top.

4. Use Add, Edit, and Delete to change alerts.

You can find these on the right.

How alerts write back into Dentrix/Dentrix Enterprise

  • NexHealth marks all alerts that patients marked Yes on the NexHealth integrated Medical History form to Active in Dentrix/Dentrix Enterprise.

  • If a patient marks an alert that is listed as Active in Dentrix/Dentrix Enterprise as No, NexHealth will mark that alert Inactive.

  • If NexHealth hides an alert on the Medical History Form and this alert is an Active alert for the patient, we will leave that as an Active alert.

  • If the patient adds any additional alerts, NexHealth will add these to the Health History Notes.

  • Patient responses to any of the Long Form Questions also go to Health History Notes.
