Connecting your Terminal dock
If your NexHealth Payments Terminal arrived with a dock, that's the ideal way to keep it charged.
1. Wire the dock cable through the back of the dock.
Snake the cable through its track on the underside of the dock, or connect it from the top.
2. Align the Terminal on the dock and let it charge.
When the Terminal is aligned properly, you'll feel it settle into place.
3. Use the Terminal on the dock, or hand it to the patient.
In NexHealth, start a payment on the Terminal, then either hand it to the patient or let them use it while it's still on the dock.
4. Remount the Terminal after use to keep it charged.
Charging on the dock is more reliable than plugging the cable directly into the Terminal.
If the Terminal is on the dock but not charging, check:
The power cord is connected to the dock.
You're not charging the Terminal directly with the cord while it's on the dock.
The dock itself is powered — a Terminal won't charge on an unpowered dock, even with a cable attached.
Terminal troubleshooting
Why won't my Terminal turn on?
Plug it in with the provided USB-C cable to make sure it has charge (it's fine to leave it always plugged in).
After a couple of minutes, hold the button on the top-right side for several seconds. You'll hear a ping and feel a small vibration, then it turns on.
If that fails, contact NexHealth support.
Why won't my Terminal charge on the dock?
Make sure the dock is connected to power.
Don't connect the power cord directly to the Terminal while it's on the dock.
If the dock isn't powered, the Terminal won't charge — even with a cable attached.
My Terminal is stuck to the dock — how do I release it?
If the Terminal won't come off, it's likely locked in with the locking nut on the underside of the dock. Flip the dock over and turn the locking nut to release it. (Hold both the dock and Terminal securely so the Terminal doesn't fall.)
"Register this reader" error
Your Terminal shows "Register this reader" when it isn't linked to your NexHealth account. Work through these steps in order, stopping when the error clears.
Step 1: Restart the Terminal
Hold the power button on the right side until the screen turns off, then hold it again to turn it back on. Once it restarts, check whether the error cleared. If it persists, go to Step 2.
Step 2: Confirm the Terminal is registered
Contact NexHealth support — have the serial number from the back of the Terminal ready. Our team will check whether it appears in your account.
If it's not listed, support will register it. Restart the Terminal (Step 1) once that's done, then check the error.
If it's listed but the error persists, go to Step 3.
Step 3: Re-register the Terminal
Support will remove the existing entry and register it again. To finish, generate a registration code on the Terminal:
Swipe from the left edge of the screen to the right.
Tap Settings.
Enter 07139 as the admin PIN.
Tap Generate Pairing Code — the Terminal shows three hyphen-separated words. That's your registration code.
Share the code with NexHealth support to complete re-registration.
