Patients always have the option to Unsubscribe from email communications or STOP SMS communications on their own. If, however, you receive a request to stop sending a specific communication to a patient, it is easy to update their preferences in NexHealth.

Unsubscribe a patient from notifications
You can unsubscribe a patient from notifications via the patient’s slideout profile by going to Actions → Notification preferences.
Resubscribe a patient to notifications
You can resubscribe a patient to notifications via the patient’s slideout profile by going to Actions → Notification preferences.
Troubleshooting common notification issues
The patient isn’t receiving notifications.
Check their Notification Preferences and ensure the subscription boxes for relevant templates (e.g., Appointment Reminders) are checked.
Verify the patient's contact information is accurate in NexHealth.
The patient still receives notifications after unsubscribing.
Review whether the patient is still subscribed to a separate template category (e.g., "Save the Date" notifications).
