Overview

Manually enter patient insurance information in your health record system

This option is only available for customers syncing with Open Dental, Dentrix, or Eaglesoft.

1. Update the patient’s insurance information in your health record system.

This will vary based on your specific health record system.

NexHealth then syncs the updated information to NexHealth’s records.

The information is now available for NexHealth to use for verification once inside the automated verification window.

Collect information via a form in NexHealth

Use the Dental Insurance verification form to collect insurance information from patients.

1. Send the Dental Insurance verification form to a patient.

2. The patient completes the form.

They can complete it via a link or via an iPad used as a forms kiosk.

3. Promptly update your health record system.

If you are not automatically syncing forms back to your health record system, you’ll need to manually update your health record system with the updated information.

NexHealth then stores and syncs the info.

  • NexHealth stores the patient’s dental insurance for use with Verification.

  • NexHealth also syncs the updated information back to your health record system.

    • This is only available for customers syncing with Open Dental, Dentrix, or Eaglesoft.

  • The information is now available for NexHealth to use for verification once inside the automated verification window.

Manually enter patient insurance information via NexHealth using Verify eligibility on-demand

When using Verify eligibility on-demand, you’ll be prompted to enter or update the patient’s insurance information.

1. In the patient profile slideout, select Verify eligibility on-demand.

You can find this in the patient profile slideout by expanding the Insurance Eligibility menu. Then, select Verify eligibility on-demand from either appear in an ellipsis (…) to the right of a previous eligibility PDF or underneath unknown insurance.

2. Confirm or add the patient’s insurance information.

When you click Verify, this will also run a verification check.

3. Promptly update your health record system.

If you have not already entered the patient’s insurance into your health record system, you’ll need to manually update your health record system with the updated information.

NexHealth stores and syncs the info and runs a verification check.

  • NexHealth stores the patient’s dental insurance for use with Verification.

  • NexHealth also syncs the updated information back to your health record system.

    • This is only available for customers syncing with Open Dental, Dentrix, or Eaglesoft.

  • NexHealth immediately uses the information for a verification check.
