Use this when a patient has no insurance and you want to prevent automated verification attempts, or when you need to manually set a status that verification returned incorrectly.

For use with NexHealth Verification

If you need to update patient insurance information, see Update patient insurance info.

If you need to verify immediately, see Verify on demand.

Overview

Override eligibility status

Patients without insurance can be marked as Self pay to ensure their insurance status on the Home page does not cause unnecessary work or count against your monthly verification limit.

1. Click on a patient’s name to open their profile.

Select the patient from the Home page appointment list, or use the search bar to locate the patient’s profile slideout in NexHealth.

2. View Insurance Eligibility by clicking the down arrow.

This will expand the Insurance Eligibility window.

3. Click the ellipsis (…) next to the insurance you’d like to verify (or click Change Eligibility Status).

You can find it to the right of a prior insurance verification.

‍If there is no previously-entered eligibility, you can simply click on Change Eligibility Status.

4. Select an Eligibility status, then click Save.

You will be able to select from Active, Self pay, Inactive, or Unknown.
