This article explains where a credit card is saved when someone books an appointment on behalf of another patient using the Scheduling for someone else option in online booking.
How NexHealth saves the card
When someone books an appointment for another person using the Scheduling for someone else option, NexHealth treats the person doing the booking as the guarantor. If a credit card is entered during that booking flow, the card is saved to the booker's patient chart — not the patient's chart.
For example, if a parent books an appointment for their child and enters a credit card, the card will appear on the parent's profile in NexHealth, not the child's.
What to do if the card needs to be on the patient's chart
To save a card directly to the patient's chart, add it manually from the patient's profile after the appointment is booked:
Open the patient's profile by clicking their name or searching for them in the global search bar.
Click Actions → Manage payment methods.
Click Add payment method and enter the card details.
